On September 29, 2024, the opening of a new concert season of the State String Quartet named after G. Zhubanova took place in the chamber hall of the Kazakh State Academic Philharmonic named after N. Tlendiev named after Zhambyl, reports the media portal Caravan.kz.

Toward the end of the evening, the 14th quartet of the great classic L. Beethoven began. The quartet’s high level of performance, virtuoso technique, stylish sense of mystery and high ensemble culture kept the audience in suspense until the end of the evening.

The history of the quartet was also discussed at the evening. The first string quartet was formed in 1988 at the music school named after Akhmet Zhubanov in Almaty. Today the fourth generation of performers is working in the creative team. Yernar Myntaev is the founder of the quartet, artistic director of the group, laureate of republican and international competitions, cello master.

The State Quartet is considered one of the best chamber ensembles in Kazakhstan. The quartet’s repertoire includes many works of world classical music, as well as advanced works by Kazakh composers. The team has become a laureate of many significant and prestigious international competitions and festivals. The head of the Borodin State Quartet, People’s Artist of Russia, Professor V. A. Berlinsky, being the quartet’s teacher, gave great creative energy to the ensemble. It was during this period that the musicians achieved great success and are still working at the peak of maturity.
