Woodwind Quintet
artistic director
In the composition: The quintet consists of: Zhanat Ermanov (clarinet), Suluzhan Elubayeva (flute), Elazat Azhmagambetov (oboe), Manarbek Sabit (horn), Bakdaulet Zholdybek (bassoon).
The woodwind quintet was organized in 1997 by the Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, laureate of international competitions, graduate of the European Academy of Music named after W. A. Mozart Zhanat Yermanov. The successful concert activity of the collective was highly appreciated, and in 2004 the quintet became a part of the Kazakh State academic Philharmonic named after Zhambyl. The artists of the quintet — laureates of national and international competitions — are a brilliant example of the commonwealth of bright individuals and a magnificent ensemble. The woodwind quintet is the first chamber ensemble of the Asian continent, which was twice invited to the Henri Tomasi International Competition in Marseille (France), where it won an honorary diploma among ensembles from Paris, Berlin, Monaco, Budapest, Lyon and other cities of the countries. They often go on tours to cities in France, England, Austria and Russia, gathering true connoisseurs and connoisseurs of chamber music. The concert repertoire of the quintet is interesting and diverse. The musicians give their listeners the opportunity to enjoy the opuses of composers of different eras and styles, from Baroque music to modern compositions. Samples of Kazakh folk music in transcriptions by Zhanat Ermanov are perceived with great interest.
Often at concerts you can hear the works of composers of Kazakhstan: B. Bayakhunov, A. Bestybayev, B. Kydyrbek, K. Shildebayev, B. Amanzholov, E.Andosov and many others.
