National Sports Day: ‘Nowruz – Duman’ Concert in Almaty

Dear friends,

As is known, during the “Nowruznama” ten-day celebration, each day is dedicated to a specific theme. March 20 is National Sports Day.

Kazakh national sports help strengthen the spirit and will, and contribute to enhancing one’s inner power. The fact that athletes involved in national sports stand out from others in their character and behavior is likely due to this. This day dedicated to honoring national sports will certainly help create a special festive atmosphere for both athletes and ordinary people.

Today, in honor of “National Sports Day” and within the framework of the 90th anniversary of the Zhambyl State Academic Philharmonic, a concert titled “Nowruz – Duman” was held at Children’s Home No. 1 in Almaty. Cultural figure Yerzhan Alimbetov, international competition laureates Birzhan Baziljan, Salawat Kariabayev, Elzhan Akhimbaev, and other creative teams performed. The event was opened by the Deputy Director of the Philharmonic, Abzal Kuanishuly, who gave a speech to the children for Nowruz. Kazakh songs and music were performed, filling the young audience with a strong patriotic spirit. At the end of the concert, national sports competitions such as tug-of-war and asyk games were held. Special prizes from the Philharmonic were awarded to the winners.
