ABAY DAY | 180th Anniversary of the Great Poet

Dear friends,

Today, August 10, marks the 180th anniversary of the birth of the great poet, educator, philosopher, and founder of Kazakh written literature — Abai Kunanbayev.

The Zhambyl Kazakh State Academic Philharmonic extends heartfelt congratulations on this significant day dedicated to honoring the spiritual legacy of this remarkable thinker!

Abai is more than just a poet; he is a spiritual beacon for an entire nation. His poems, prose, and songs are invaluable treasures that belong to all of humanity.

It is noteworthy that in 2020, by decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, August 10 was officially designated as Abai Day. This year marks the fifth official celebration of this holiday.

Abai’s words are eternal, his thoughts serve as an example for future generations, and his path is a spiritual guide for the nation.
