On May 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM, the Jambyl Kazakh State Academic Philharmonic will host the grand opening of the plein air event titled “Philharmonic Through the Eyes of Young Artists.” This event, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, will run from May 26 to May 30 and is dedicated to two significant anniversaries: the 90th anniversary of the Kazakh State Academic Philharmonic and the State Choir Chapel named after B. Baikadamov, as well as the 100th anniversary of the outstanding composer and conductor Nurgisa Tlendiyev.
Participants include students from the boarding school and college of the T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, in collaboration with the O. Tansykbaev Almaty College of Decorative and Applied Arts.
The project aims to support and develop the creative potential of young artists, providing them with an opportunity to express their perception of national art, cultural identity, and historical continuity. The plein air will serve as a creative platform where art students can realize their artistic visions and share their perspectives on Kazakh culture through depictions of the Philharmonic’s architecture, interiors, and ensembles. Special attention will be given to the anniversary themes and artistic interpretations of the Philharmonic’s atmosphere.
The five-day program includes not only plein air sessions but also an introduction to the Philharmonic’s history, a visit to the Zhambyl Museum in the Zhambyl district of the Almaty region, creative meetings, and experience sharing.
