laureate of international competitions, professor of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, graduate of the European Academy of Music named after V.A.Mozart, clarinetist Zhanat Ermanov. The successful concert and educational activities of the collective were highly appreciated and in 2004 the quintet joined the Kazakh State Philharmonic named after Zhambyl. The artists of the collective – laureates of republican, interzonal and international competitions – are a brilliant example of a community of bright individuals and a magnificent ensemble. The State Quintet of Woodwind Instruments is the first collective of the Asian continent to win an honorary diploma among ensembles from more than fifteen European Union countries participating in the Henri Tomasi International Competition in Marseille (France). In 2016, the quintet became the winner of the International Music Award “BELBRAND AWARD”, having passed the competitive relay among 165 nominees from more than 19 countries (France, Germany, Italy, Serbia, Czech Republic, Lithuania and other countries). The musicians give their listeners the opportunity to enjoy the opuses of composers of different eras and styles, from Baroque music to modern compositions. The musicians of the ensemble improve their performing skills by playing music with outstanding masters such as Michel Letjec, Francois Lele, David Walter, Frederic Baron, Jean Guien Keiras, Alexander Trostyansky, Armand Angster, Yana Thomson, Colin Carr, Andre Casalet, Grigory Zhislin, Vasily Lobanov, Kyoko Hashimoto, Anna Kasyan, Corrado Giuffreddi, Fiorenzo Pascaluccio. For interesting and informative concerts in their homeland, the quintet of woodwind instruments is called the “Magnificent Five”. With great pleasure, the listener perceives Kazakh folk music in transcription for the quintet, created by the director Zhanat Ermanov. You can often hear the works of Kazakhstani composers at concerts: Adilya Bestybayeva, Balnur Kadyrbek, Artyka Toksanbayeva, Kuata Shildebayeva, Beibita Daldenbayeva, Bakhtiyara Amanzholova, Yerbolat Andosova, Bakira Bayakhunov.
