The T.Abdrashev State Academic Symphony Orchestra was introduced into the Philharmonic in 1958.
Its organizer, director and first conductor was People’s Artist of the Kazakh SSR, People’s Artist of Russia, People’s Artist of the Tatar ASSR Fuat Shakirovich Mansurov, whose name is inscribed in golden letters in the history of this collective. For more than 20 years, the orchestra was led by the famous conductor Tolepbergen Abdrashev. T.Abdrashev’s skill is recognized in many countries of the world. The maestro has performed with symphony orchestras in the USA, England, Germany, South Korea, Turkey and other countries. Under the direction of Tolepbergen Abdrashev, the orchestra performed world classics and works by contemporary authors. Timur Mynbayev has been the conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Kazakhstan for many years. He successfully combined conducting, composing and musicological activities. He wrote opera and ballet, symphony and symphonic kui, sonata and quartet, oratorio, vocal and choral cycles, chamber and jazz compositions. In his works, he creatively follows the traditions of the composing schools of the past and present. Kazakh national folklore became an important source of Mynbayev’s creativity. Now the orchestra is led by a talented young conductor Kanat Omarov. The role of the symphony orchestra in promoting new works by Kazakhstani composers is significant, and the orchestra’s creative friendship with composers has a long tradition that continues to this day.
