A commemorative exhibition honoring Nurgisa Tlendiyev—one of the greatest composers of the 20th century, a renowned conductor, and a legend of Kazakh music—has opened in Paris.
The opening ceremony was attended by ambassadors, diplomats, representatives of UNESCO, and Parisian residents.
Titled “Sources of Inspiration: The Legacy of Nurgisa Tlendiyev,” the exhibition celebrates his 100th anniversary. The collection features approximately 70 unique items from the collections of the Association of Museums of Almaty, including manuscripts, musical scores, personal belongings, and the legendary “Dariga dombra” gifted to the composer.
The exhibit is displayed at UNESCO headquarters and will remain open until June 19, 2025.
Nurgisa Tlendiyev was the author of over 500 works, including music for films and theatrical productions, and founder of the “Otyrar sazy” orchestra. His oeuvre holds a significant place in the golden treasury of Kazakh national art.
