There are grounds to assert that the State Brass Orchestra has brought a number of composers of Kazakhstan to the world audience with its excellent performance. Now more than 30 scores of authors of Kazakhstan have been published in publishing houses of European countries.

CDs of the State Brass Orchestra have been released in Vienna, Taiwan and our republic. Many remarkable foreign conductors and musicians from Russia, Germany, the USA, France, England, China, Slovenia, Israel, Poland and other countries who performed with the orchestra noted the high professionalism of the musicians, impeccable intonation and virtuoso possession of instruments, perfect coherence of the playing of all groups, the richest timbre of sound, an extensive repertoire. The orchestra has prepared more than 400 concert programs, among them such cycles as “By countries and continents”, “Guest of the season”, subscriptions for young listeners “Music around us”, author’s concerts of composers of Kazakhstan and many others. Today, the orchestra successfully employs famous musicians and talented young people in the music world. This allows the team to constantly increase the level of their professionalism, to gain ever higher peaks of performing skills. To date, more than half of the orchestra’s musicians are laureates and have diplomas from national and international competitions.

The artistic director and chief conductor of the collective is Kanat Akhmetov, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Professor, laureate of international competitions, member of WASBE (World Association of Brass Orchestras and Ensembles), member of ITA (International Trombone Association), member of APBDA (Association of Brass Band Leaders of Asia and the Pacific). He has performed as a guest conductor and trombonist soloist in Russia and other CIS countries, France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, the USA, Spain, on the island of Taiwan.

Conductor of the State Brass Orchestra Alexander Belyakov — Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, laureate of the Military Conductors Competition in Moscow, 1992, member of APBDA (Association of Brass Band Leaders of Asia and the Pacific), member of IMMS (International Community of Military Music), regularly participates in concerts and festivals with various brass and pop symphony orchestras in our country and abroad.
